The People...

(A few of the actors, a few of the people on the sidelines).

Michael Delacour

Perennial Berkeley people's politician, one of the leaders of the protests (as opposed to the riots). Often runs for Mayor on quixotically left-wing tickets (quixotic even by Berkeley standards).

Santa Rita Holiday Inn...

(Something of a Bay Area in-joke).

"Airborne..."

Did not want me to take his photo. Later relented and actually smiled for the camera. "No names. No Names."

Maudelle Shirek

Oakland and Berkeley politician and matriarch. Not usually quite as stern looking as this.

Rapper

This guy got up out of the blue and delivered an improvised rap on racism. It was not well-received by the masses behind me....

Denise

A friend of mine from Ireland (I used to mind her jewelery stall on Telegraph at odd times during the weekends). She set the stall up on Sunday morning, hoping for business. Later that day she and others had to leave the street after being warned off by the police.

Man On Crutches

One of the people being interviewed during the press conference. I ought to know who this is, but I'm embarrased to admit I can't recognize him from the photo.

The Wheelchair Woman

At the thick of Saturday's action. "Three Million Homeless. Let's Spend A Million On Volleyball...".
